Baylene Thompson

Baylene Kala'i oka pua leilani ali'i Kahoano Thompson, aka “Kalaʻi,” is honored to serve her Liliʻuokalani Trust teammates with aloha, in an environment that emphasizes culture.

What drew her to the trust was its mission and values, which align with her own.

Kalaʻi was a social worker in the Hawaiʻi State Child Welfare Services for seven years, prior to joining LT’s Kīpuka Waiʻanae-Heulu Hale.

Her background stems in counseling and psychology focused on mental health, and she has a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University.

Kalaiʻi and her husband enjoy quality time with their three sons. Together, their family creates memories and family traditions  — from movie nights at home, to hiking and hitting the beach.

As a mother of three busy boys, Kalaʻi also cherishes solo time at the beach. “Either simply sitting with my toes in the sand, immersing myself in the salt water, or in a waʻa,” she says.
