Cathy Cruz-George As a Brand Strategist and member of the Communications Team at Liliʻuokalani Trust, Cathy is grateful to be part of a collective that invests in Hawaiʻi's future, supports kamaliʻi, and honors the legacy of our Queen. She was born on the idyllic island of Guam and raised in bustling Seoul, Korea, and Tokyo, Japan. Before joining LT, she was in media for 27 years as: Editor for Hawaiʻi Business, HONOLULU Magazine/HONOLULU Family, Building Industry Hawaiʻi (construction), Building Management Hawaiʻi, Hawaiʻi Hospitality magazines, and the now-defunct Downtown Planet urban weekly; Finance Reporter for Pacific Business News; Editor for Hospitality Guahan and Guam Business magazines; Dining Editor for Vox/Mid-Week; an Education Reporter for Columbia Missourian; City Desk Reporter for Pacific Daily News; Features Writer for Latte magazine (Guam lifestyle); and an Editorial Consultant for magazines and nonprofits supporting keiki and kūpuna.Cathy is a graduate of the University of Missouri-School of Journalism (the oldest J-school in the world) and is trained to teach trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness for youth and teens. An Oʻahu resident for 24 years, she and her husband raise an artsy, creative teenage daughter and a rescue poi dog who naps all day.
