Cynthia joined the Trust in January 2011. She is responsible for taking the lead on specific large project elements of the Keahuolū master plan and works closely with the Development Manager to coordinate overall land plan strategy and day-to-day efforts. Prior to joining the Trust, Cynthia worked at the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools where she was the director of communications, at the Honolulu Waldorf School serving as business manager and admissions director, and in various capacities at two land development companies.
Cynthia grew up “under the Hollywood sign” in Los Angeles, in a large and boisterous family greatly influenced by her Ecuadorian mother’s relatives and roots. She attended the University of California at Berkeley for two years and then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1980.
She visited Hawai’i after college graduation, fell in love with the beauty of the Islands and the warmth of its people, and moved to Oahu a month later where she has lived ever since.
Cynthia is a competitive tennis player; her team was a finalist at the USTA National Championships in Tucson. She has one daughter.
