Michele Otake, Manager

Michele joined the Trust in March 2009 as a development manager. She works primarily on real estate management and value-enhancing activities for the Trust holdings on Hawai`i Island.

With over twenty years of development experience ranging from architecture, land planning, entitlements, and project management, Michele brings hands-on knowledge from various projects throughout Hawai`i. Prior to joining the Trust, she has worked for Castle & Cooke Homes Hawaiʻi, Inc. as a project manager responsible for acquisitions and various residential and commercial projects; Maui Land & Pineapple Company, Inc./Kapalua Land Company as a development manager for its Hāli`imaile lands in Upcountry Maui; and for the State of Hawai`i as a housing planner for Housing Finance and Development Corporation, project manager with the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, and state land planner for the Department of Land and Natural Resources, Land Division.

Michele graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. She is a licensed architect in the State of Hawai`i and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). She is also a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) candidate, NAIOP (the Commercial Real Estate Development Association) member, and is on the board of the Kailua Village Improvement District in Kona.

Michele is an avid photographer and is to be credited for many of the photos on our website.
