Noe Smith-Kapoi Noe describes her ideal relaxation as saddling up and taking a ride with her granddaughter and dog. She is a community building facilitator in Hana and their cover area takes Noe to where she was born and raised in Hana. Her Smith ʻohana originated from Waiopai Kaupo, Kukuiula & Kau Makani Kipahulu and Wailua Nui Keanae. As a single mom, Noe's life is built around her two daughters and three-year-old granddaughter, with their school, community activities, sports events and rodeos. Noe and her three siblings are a close ʻohana; they are the 4th generation to continue to raise cattle, hunt, fish and farm in Kipahulu and Kaupo. She is proud to say that the next generation of Keanae to Kaupo ʻohana will be able to raise their children and maintain a sustainable life with the resources from mauka to makai.
